Kagimotoya soba / 鍵本屋

Kagimotoya is a small soba noodle restaurant, right by the Naka-Karuizawa station in Nagano, which has been around for 140 years. Noodles are hand cut, served cold (Zaru soba) and the broth is a little on the sweet side. So even if the interior is not spectacular you will want to come back for more. We should have known, the queue outside let on that fact.

Kenchan Zaru, cold soba noodles served with a rich miso soup packed with daikon, carrots, tofu, imo and konyaku.
