When I was 18 I moved to Japan for a year. Not for any particular reason, but somehow just ended up there. And ever since I've been strangely attracted to that weird but wonderful place and what its' beautiful culture has to offer. I've scribbled down thoughts for menus in my notebook for about a year now, constantly inspired by places I've visited and food I've tasted, especially when in Japan. Even though I love the experience a great restaurant can offer, I still prefer a dinner (or breakfast) with good company in someone's kitchen or dining room. For some reason, that's when it seems to taste the best.
So this is what I will be doing. Hosting dinners and breakfast in friendly places, inspired by Japanese ichiju-sansai*, focusing on the experience around rice and tea. There will probably not be matching chopsticks and starched napkins, but hopefully a few new faces and 4 to 5 plates that you don't whip up on a regular Tuesday.

The gathering.
This is an occasion for taking time to enjoy beautiful food and interesting talks. The size of the venue is quite small, so be sure to secure you ticket if you want to attend. And don't forget this it's also a rendez-vous - meeting new, and old, friends. I also do private events, just send me an email and we'll figure something out.
