Atelier september

My absolute favourite spot in Copenhagen. You can sit for hours in this little cafe/atelier with big windows, bright light and a perfectly assembled menu that constantly serves new and delicious plat-du-jour (the Avocadomad is to die for and you can get it for breakfast lunch or as a snack). And their lemonade is kick-ass.

Operaen

Copenhagen opera house - one of the most modern Opera houses in the world, and Henning Larsen's architecture leaves you in awe. Both from afar and when standing in the airy foyer. If you don't want to spend a whole evening but still want to get inside check the program for the shorter foyer performances.

design museum denmark

The museum, placed in an old hospital is apart from their great exhibitions also home of two hidden gems. A small but oh so pretty library and a fantastic café filled with Wegner and Jacobsen furniture as well as the Le Klint lightning I assume the café is named after. On top of that, they serve great smørrebrød on the best (!) rye bread I've tasted in Copenhagen (or ever for that matter).

BEAU MARCHÉ café au vins

Go for a coffee and an apple tarte in the afternoon, a glass (or bottle) of wine in the evening or even an assortment of ham and cheese as a light dinner. Tiny and french on a hidden backyard (and the connected interior design store is worth a stroll).

Runde taarn

This round tower in the middle of Copenhagen was built in the 17th century and is known for the spiral path shed with beautiful light, leading all the way up to the observatory and a magnificent view of the city. As it's a popular spot amongst visitors I suggest going early so that you can enjoy the slow walk up to the top.
